By Stephanie Lisa Tara; Illustrated by Alex Walton
A pair of bear cubs emerges from their cozy den into a snowy white world where their mom teaches them to play, swim, and hunt for food. Soon, however, as ice floes melt and the threesome travel farther afield, their world is marred with trash and scary humans who shout "Go away, bear!" Using simple verses, author Tara vividly shows how global warming is shringking the polar bear habitat. The low-key ending is brightened somewhat with a list of actions young readers can take and resources for more information. Ages 4 to 8.
